Franciscans. It was also culmination of the long waited dream of most Rev. Dr. Oswald Gomis the Arch bishop of Colombo and very Rev. Fr. Neville Fernando T.O.R. the minister provincial of the T.O.R. Franciscans."

This college is a branch school of Loyola College, Negombo. It is directly attached to the office of the catholic school general manager. Its management is owned by T.O.R. Franciscan Fathers. It is a mixed school.

Loyola Collage, Bopitiya, was started with the purpose of giving catholic education to the students of costlal belt. This is the only catholic school in the educational zone of Ja-ela. The age of college is only ten years. But she maintains her standard as the most popular school of the area.
